Banksia Paws
Hi, I’m Sophie, founder of Banksia Paws. I grew up on river country in Gippsland, Victoria, and now live with my young family in the Strzelecki Ranges, Gippsland, where a deep connection to nature and animals consumes my every day life.
During my Bachelor of Animal Science studies, I developed a strong foundation in animal health, biology, and wellbeing that underpins every product we create.
A personal health challenge led me to rethink the products we used at home, removing those with harsh or unnecessary chemicals. When I looked at our dogs’ grooming products, they were riddled with harsh ingredients and didn't inspire me to use them frequently.
Banksia Paws was created to close that gap, combining science, Australian botanicals, and a more conscious approach to care for our dogs and for us.
Nature-led Dog Grooming
Our dogs are part of everything we do, the quiet mornings, the hard days, the adventures. They’re family. That’s where Banksia Paws began. Inspired by the resilience of the Australian banksia, I set out to create a grooming range that truly reflects how we live: nature-led, science-backed, and authentically Australian.
Using Native Botanicals
Using native botanicals like Kakadu Plum, banksia leaf extract, and soothing ingredients like aloe vera, jojoba and oatmeal, each formula is designed to nourish and improve vitality of your dog’s skin and coat, while being gentle on your hands too.
Returning to Simplicity
Developed alongside an expert chemist here in Victoria and grounded in my background in animal science, Banksia Paws is about returning to simplicity, trust, and nature, for the dogs who walk beside us every day, they deserve clean, nourishing products for their skin and coat.
